

Cindy Choung is Co-Director of the Asian American Documentary Network (A-Doc) and a New York-based nonfiction narrative specialist. Prior to A-Doc, Cindy led the communications and fundraising team for the documentary support organization, Chicken & Egg Films (formerly Chicken & Egg Pictures). During her tenure, Chicken & Egg won numerous awards and industry recognitions including the Nonprofit Excellence Awards for Fundraising and Communications. As an oral historian and storytelling consultant, she has worked with numerous organizations to strengthen their institutional narrative and identity, including Columbia University’s Center for Democracy, Toleration, and Religion and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
In addition to her work at A-Doc, Cindy is currently Consulting Producer for Emily Hong’s ABOVE AND BELOW THE GROUND (Blackstar Film Festival 2023), a feature length documentary following the story of Myanmar’s first ever national environmental movement, and Morgan Hulquist’s INVADERS (in production), a poetic documentary about a motley group of citizen scientists who spend their free time scouring Maine’s coastline for marine invasive species.
