As A-Doc enters our 10th year in 2026, we invite you to celebrate a decade of our community in bloom. To mark this milestone, we’ll be budding new initiatives while continuing to nurture and grow our existing programs. Throughout the year, we’ll also be curating special content, including videos, Letterboxd lists, guest blog posts, and more, to celebrate our members, amplify their work, and honor the vibrant space we’ve built together.

ABOUT THE DESIGN:
“A-Doc: 10 Years of Community in Bloom,” imagines nonfiction storytelling as a vibrant ecosystem that is inseparable from the people who sustain it. The design is a love letter to A-Doc’s journey, celebrating the past decade while dreaming of a future that is accessible, sustainable, and rooted in community.
The smiling house reflects the foundation that has been nurtured by our intergenerational community, planting the seeds for future storytellers. A canopy of chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and daffodils, symbolizes joy and new beginnings. Centered in the design is a group of people reflecting and sharing, not isolated, but moving forward together. The deliberate inclusion of the snail represents resilience, and a gentle reminder to make time for rest. In an industry that moves rapidly, the film reel as the snail’s shell reimagines community as a home that you can always return to.
The bright shades of tangerine, fuschia, and chartreuse contribute a sense of whimsy and collective dreaming. As A-Doc looks forward to the next 10 years, this design honors the roots that connect us and celebrates the community we continue to build together. – Meloddy Gao
