overview
Allies: A-Doc Allies is a peer-focused skill-sharing program that draws on the strengths of our community. Through this program, A-Doc members have the opportunity to meet with other community members in small groups to learn from and hold space for each other.
Conversations: A-Doc provides opportunities to shape and contribute to vital conversations within the documentary industry/nonfiction media field and AAPI spaces; and to provide members within the A-Doc community, as visible representatives of our organization, opportunities to be voices in these conversations.
Filmmaker Cohorts: A-Doc is committed to fostering a wide variety of opportunities for members by bringing selected participants to festivals and conferences across the country. These individuals can take part in programming, panels, mixers, and other networking opportunities.
Impact: A-Doc’s Impact Initiative is rooted within the social justice ecosystem. Benefits under this initiative include but are not limited to, resources for film impact campaigns, partnerships with organizations to deepen understanding on a given issue, a speaker series, and a year-long fellowship.
In-Person Meetups: A-Doc supports our members with organizing in-person community-building events in their local areas, whether it is in tandem with an industry event or a standalone idea that encourages dialogue, wellness, and sustainability.
Storytelling: The A-Doc Storytelling Initiative harnesses the talent of our filmmaking membership to advocate for our agency and shape narratives about AANHPI communities. Each iteration focuses on different themes that speak to the current moment.
